SEMA 2017

Las Vegas, NV – The SEMA show is the perfect transition to recap a successful year and to preview what looks to be another successful upcoming year. We decided to do SEMA bigger and better than ever before, securing our own 20×20 booth and displaying one of the baddest builds of 2017. It was no coincidence that Austin Barnett’s WrexZilla – an RB26 GTR powered Subaru WRX – was invited to be our booth car as he also was the proud recipient of our 2017 Championship Belt. He won more  Best of Show awards than any other competitor on the Powered by eJudged “circuit” last year and his build embodied what this car scene is all about – following his own rules to create something truly unique and special.

In addition to displaying and awarding our champion for the year, we also hit Las Vegas to hype the latest and greatest version(s) of our digital judging app/service.  We unveiled a brand new build for iOS and announced the addition of Android version 1.0 – which is now officially launched along with a new version for iPad sizing as well. In order to build the hype, we had Austin and his Billetworkz company help us make some killer Showfloor Awards that we presented to 10 of the coolest builds on display at SEMA. The awards were built from solid chunks of billet aluminum and lazer cut and engraved to spec to look like iPads. Check our youtube channel for video coverage of all the winners.

As has been the case since the birth of eJudged, our good friends at Mothers Polishes used the app to digitally judge their prestigious Mothers Shine Award. We can’t express how much gratitude we have towards the people at Mothers for jumping on board early and helping us gain momentum year after year. Getting to see their process and the caliber of cars that win their awards has also taught us alot along the way.

We had an incredible week in Las Vegas for SEMA – and we look forward to another year of growth. Here are some highlights from SEMA. Enjoy:

Euro Hangar 6

Holland, MI – We always look forward to our long journey to Lake Michigan for Euro Hangar. It’s one of the coolest, laid back events of the year. Our weekend always starts off early, as we hand out 5 golden ticket selections for the featured hangar cars at the Pre-Show GTG. Show day is always a great vibe – as long as you strap your tents down. There were so many quality euro builds on display this year! We were blown away by most of the Top 25 cars and the Best of Show and Corrado Rush winning builds. Euro Hangar goes down in our books as one of the best euro events that we’ve attended.

Shouts to Kevin Kamis for sharing some of his amazing photos with us!

The JunkFood Meet – Harrisburg Riverfront

Harrisburg, PA – We’re always excited when cool things happen close to our hometown. So it’s especially exciting when our friends at JunkStyles x LowLifeStyle host The JunkFood Meet on the riverfront in Harrisburg. This event is all about good vibes with cool cars, amazing food trucks, artists, live performances, etc all going on throughout the park. It’s a cool mix of community and cars. We had our Battle Wagon posted up right at the main entrance under the railroad bridge arch. This event is just in its second year but we already noticed some of the region’s heavy hitters are marking this one on their calendars. We can’t wait to see what the crew has in store for its “Second Helping” of the JunkFood Meet this fall in Lititz, PA.

Introducing: The eJudged SEMA Awards

The eJudged digital judging technology has been utilized during the SEMA Show since the brand’s official launch in 2013 by the amazing judges behind the Mothers Polish Award. This year the eJudged brand will be taking another step forward with their own booth display and activation. The partners at eJudged are no stranger to the SEMA Show, being a part of over 20 award winning vehicle builds over the past 10+ years and guest judging some of the most exciting programs to host competitions at the event. This year they will bring their expertise and unique product to the forefront, allowing event promoters, vehicle builders, shops, and automotive enthusiasts a chance to interact with the eJudged app within their booth – SEMA Booth 50919 to be specific.

In addition, eJudged will be producing their own SEMA Show awards presentation. The awards/competition will consist of 10-15 unique show floor awards, recognizing builders and vehicles that represent all facets of car culture. This will be a reflection of the product’s diversity, with partners from all over the automotive community. Awards will be presented to the vehicle builders throughout the week and will also be streamed live via social media. In addition, eJudged will recognize their first official “circuit champion”. Their 2017 Powered by eJudged Championship Belt will be presented to the top competitor of the year throughout all “powered by eJudged” events nationwide and internationally.

SEMA Awards will be curated to suit some of eJudged’s top clients and partners. Stay tuned as award titles begin to surface.

OC Car & Truck Show

Ocean City, MD – We’re always down for a beach trip – especially when it comes to the 17th Annual OC Car & Truck Show. This is another event that we’ve been attending since it’s early days. The main man in charge of the event, b-Rad, has become a friend to the eJudged crew and we like to be able to help his vision come thru from year to year as the show evolves along with the car show & meet culture. Out front on Saturday, the event hosted the Driven To Cure anniversary meet – celebrating one year since the DTC charity was officially launched at last year’s OC Car Show. We’re happy to know that the charity has raised over $300,000 in that year. Sunday outside was the Shoreline Showdown Truck show hosted by the guys at East Coast Mini’s. Indoor all weekend was special though… OC Car Show business as usual, but with a twist. We had our Transit Connect on display in the Dockside Hall along with our friends JunkStyles x LowLifeStyle, who hosted the Lowlifes on the Bay showcase. We had our official booth in the main hall though, with the RMiller build Jeep – supporting the upcoming OC Jeep Week event.

Brad wanted to create a buzz and help bring back the big builds that we have seen less and less of in this new generation of car enthusiast. So we curated a special Best of the Beach competition, selecting the Top 5 cars of the entire indoor show. We made the secret selections Saturday evening during the Car Culture Film Festival. Sunday morning each of the Top 5 builders had another chance to present their car, this time to a full panel of judges. At the end of the day, scores were averaged to come up with the official Best of Show winner – although each of the Top 5 selections did go home with some cash in their pockets. This was one of the closest competitions we have ever witnessed or been a part of as 5 different styles were represented. In the end it was the craftsmanship of the Legacy Innovations built Corrado that barely edged out the competition – which included Muzzy’s RHD, shaved everything, wild Croll’s Customs Nissan Z build; Michael Tillet’s amazing Grand National swapped, all chromed out Monte Carlo SS; Drew Evan’s Timeless Liberty Walk G37 Sedan with all the bells, whistles, rare parts and innovative interior; and another APAC Auto creation – possibly the nicest we’ve seen to date – a cool convertible Camaro build. We continue to support Brad and the OC Fam… and we can’t wait to see what he has in store for next year and how this Top 5 competition will progress.

Carlisle Import Performance Nationals

Carlisle, PA – Every May we return back to the place where it all started. Carlisle Fairgrounds is where most of our team got their feet wet in the scene, both showing off their latest builds, and learning the ropes of judging other people’s latest builds. So once a year we get the old band back together to operate the drive thru judging lanes for Carlisle’s Import & Performance Nationals. This year we were joined by our partners in crime The Circuit Podcast. They set up shop under the main tent and were able to catch a glimpse of all the cars as they drove thru the judging lanes. We also had our main man with the detailing rag, Crunchy, on hand to demo some cleaning products and get our newly unwrapped Ford Transit Connect Battle Wagon shining like a Mothers Polishes sponsored vehicle should be shining. All in all the weather held up with just a few sprinkles and this year’s Carlisle IPN was a melting pot of current and vintage JDM and Euro vehicles. This is an event where you can see variety like no other!

ATSC World – 75 Chrome Shop Truck Show

Wildwood, FL – Make Trucking Great Again is the slogan. The American Truck Show Circuit is the organization. We made the long haul from PA to central FL last weekend for the kick off event to a brand new event series that has teamed up with us – and we gotta say it was a pretty cool experience. We won’t complain about the 1000 mile journey because that’s what truckers do each day, so some might say this was just a short hop skip and a jump away. The series focuses on attention to detail and will feature a season long points chase to see who has built the best Big Rigs in the game. We met some of the big players in that industry and our top certified judges got to learn a little something in the process. The competitive world of Trucking events is pretty serious, and it took us back to the days when the sport compact show scene became very serious. It’s interesting to see the blood, sweat and tears that get poured into these huge vehicles – and even more impressive to consider that a majority of these trucks are “elite working class” meaning that they are driven on the job on a regular basis but still turn up to the show free of bugs in their grill and dirt on their frames. Cory and the ATSC crew were extremely hospitable and we instantly felt like we were a part of the crew. While the judging sessions were serious, each night also ended with an insane light show and a party atmosphere… and lunch was provided for the drivers each day as well. It’s very cool to see event organizers going above and beyond – and showing respect to those that make their events possible. We think alot of the car show organizers could learn a thing or two from what these guys and gals are doing at ATSC. We look forward to a growing relationship with this series… and after a weekend at the world famous 75 Chrome Shop, we will never look at a big rig the same way again! We had our little Transit Connect Battle Wagon posted up front and center – and we gotta say it seemed to fit in there just as much as it fits in anywhere.

Spring Breakdown at Campbelltown

Palmyra, PA – We recently attended the 2nd Annual Spring Breakdown show at the Campbelltown Fire Co. The event was co-hosted by our friends at Lowlifestyle x Junkstyles and Counter Kultur – two titans of the car culture clothing community. This is always a laid back affair and we were lucky enough to have some real spring time weather to enjoy all day long – despite weather forecasts predicting rain and chills all day. We came out to show our support because the event is pretty local and the fellas used our digital judging service to lock in their Top 25 and specialty awards. We must say the event was pretty impressive – with well over 500 cars all over the showfield. We had our new look Black Ops Battle Wagon posted up on the midway. We always look forward to the fun events that these guys put on and we can’t wait for LowLifeStyle LLC’s JunkFood Meet events this summer and fall – and we’re hoping to hear a release date for their other collabo event with Counter Kultur, Knoedown (at Knoebels Amusement Park). Stay tuned!

HDay – Spring Edition

Englisthtown, NJ – We received exciting news a couple months back when we met with the great people behind OGS3120 – who operate the mother of all Honda/Acura events (HDay) and newly re-branded car show and race series called FastFest Live. We were honored to team up and offer our services for them to take their car shows to the next level of digital judging. This past weekend we ventured out to New Jersey to get our first taste of HDay and we were truly blown away. The Honda enthusiasts were lined up 6 lanes deep in the early hours of the morning – or what is still late night for most of us. waiting for the gates to open. The event was huge!

We were able to set up shop right next to Car Show Central, near the stage, vendors and VIP display cars – with our Battle Wagon sporting a fresh look and with our brand new Championship Belt on display. The crowds loved both, but many wondered just how we were able to bring a Ford to an all Honda/Acura show. That’s just what we do. We gotta say we enjoyed the opportunity to work with the judging staff and the other people behind the scenes at OGS1320… and we can’t wait for next month’s action!
